Patricia Perez
Patricia Perez is a local Chicago artist who has been painting and drawing since the early age of five. Her influences growing up were artists like Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo, and present day artist, Justin Bua.
Raised in the city, by a Puerto Rican father and Guatemalan mother, she incorporates this fusion of Latin and urban cultures in her work. The artist expresses the importance of vibrant colors in her pieces by saying, "My art is a reflection of me. I am all those reds, blues, and greens you view in my work."
Currently, Patricia continues to focus on city themes. She has recently begun a series of pieces that include Puerto Rican and Guatemalan folkloric subject matter. She describes her passion and appreciation for art as "an essential organ needed to live."
