Exhibits
Since 1999, the PRAA has committed to producing at least one visual arts exhibition each year and more when possible. Exhibits are specifically designed to showcase Puerto Rican culture and artists and are strategically located in venues with easy public access. Working in partnership with Banco Popular, in 2005 the PRAA produced "La Comunidad Puertorriquena y sus Comienzos", hosted at Banco Popular's local branch at Kedzie and Milwaukee. It also co-sponsored Research with Northern Illinois University (NIU) Gallery, an exhibition of 5 Latinas presented at NIU Gallery's River North location near downtown Chicago. These exhibits provide ongoing exposure artists from Chicago and beyond and give the residents in local neighborhoods an ongoing opportunity to have free access to the visual arts.
