Combining traditional Puerto Rican danzaz, classical themes and contemporary sounds this recently formed quintet of professional musicians from Chicago have joined together to produce a unique expression of distinct music styles filtered through the lens of Puerto Rican and Caribbean sounds.

Originally formed in 1992, the Columbian group, BAHIA, make their Chicago debut for the 1999
Folk and Roots Music Festival. This international touring group creates rich and diverse sound
with a wide range of instruments and a variety of Columbian music that includes: Folkloric music
from the Columbian lowlands, the Pacific coast and the Andean regions, African and Caribbean traditional sounds -- played with traditional marimba and percussion, and combined with the contemporary sounds of piano, sax and vocals.
