Our Partners in Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico Outreach
Over the last decade, PRAA has developed partnerships in Puerto Rico through outreach initiatives and collaborative projects. Our long-term relationships with cultural institutions has deepened our connection to the island and brought visibility to our work with the artistic community in Chicago and Puerto Rico.
Conservatorio de Puerto Rico
In 2016 PRAA established a formal program partnership with the El Conservatorio Musica de Puerto Rico aimed at creating a foundation for curriculum development, instructional backing, staff guidance, master classes, performance opportunities, internships, and student exchanges. Through this effort the Latin Music Project (LMP) is evolving into a pre-conservatory model for intense music learning and training. Through technical assistance in multiple areas, our instructors and student musicians are able to build upon linkages to pre-conservatory programs while developing a national model of their own focusing on curriculum and repertoire development.
Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y el Caribe
PRAA has established a formal Residency Program with CEAPRC for collaborations with artists, musicians, and cultural leaders. In partnership with PRAA the center has provided space for events and musical performances. The center is a private academic institution that offers graduate studies in arts and philosophy.
Fundación Felisa Rincón de Gautier
In 2017 the PRAA established a formal partnership with Fundación Felisa Rincón in the interest of highlighting the great work of Doña Felisa Rincón through a newly established women award event. Fundación Felisa Rincón also serves as a base for PRAA to expand its outreach work in Puerto Rico.
