Valeria Santos Núnez
Community Engagement Coordinator
Valeria Santos Núñez is a cultural anthropologist, archeologist, and food scholar. Her work delves into the creation of meaning and its material representation through culture. Her focus of study is within Mexican and Puerto Rican culture centering communitarian and de-colonial approaches to research. Valeria’s ongoing project highlights the role of foodways in the cultural self-assertion and inscription of Mexican people living in the diaspora. Currently Valeria is playing with audio installations and sonic constellations to showcase ground-roots archives of culinary knowledge.
Valeria graduated from la Universidad de Puerto Rico: Río Piedras and completed a Master of Arts in Food Studies from Chatham University.
